Nice, future European Capital of Culture?
Since July 2021, Nice has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a winter resort city of the Riviera.
Its incomparable light, its azure sea, its green reliefs of the middle and high countries, make it a land of inspiration and creation that celebrates the human and the nature, beyond the borders.
Having proposed to associate its metropolitan area, the Community of Municipalities of the French Riviera (CARF) which includes Menton, the Italian cities of Cuneo (Piedmont), San Remo, Imperia and Ventimiglia (Liguria), the city of Nice is a candidate for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2028.
The artistic and cultural program of NICE 2028 reflects the identity and ambition of this territory to become a cultural society which, based on its heritage and values, is betting on youth, innovation, digital technology and the future, on a European scale, in order to take up the great challenges of the contemporary world and particularly that of adapting to climate change.
